Reunion Chair and Committee
Reunion Chair and Committee Volunteer Opportunities
Reunion is a special time to celebrate with old friends and meet new ones while supporting the College through financial giving.
If you are approaching a reunion year and are interested in volunteering to help make it a successful event for your class please read the following:
Reunion Co-Chair Responsibilities
As a co-chair your responsibilities include reaching out to your classmates, asking them to participate in your class gift, and getting as many of your classmates as possible to come to campus during reunion.
You and your fellow co-chair(s) will plan your class event, write a minimum of one letters and 2-3 emails, and determine what your class’ participation and dollar goals should be.
Co-chairs will work with a staff member from the Institutional Advancement Office who will walk them through the process.
Reunion Committee Responsibilities
In the spring leading up to your reunion you will reach out to a number (determined by co-chairs) of your classmates through phone calls, emails, Facebook, and LinkedIn to encourage class gift participation and attendance at reunion.
For more information on volunteering for your upcoming reunion, please email alumni@rossand1mariatakemexico.com and write “Reunion Volunteer” in your subject line.
SMC Alumni for Racial Justice
SMC Alumni for Racial Justice is a collaborative group of alumni formed to support current members of the SMC community, including students, faculty, and fellow alumni, to promote belonging and justice for Black, Indigenous, and People of Color (BIPOC) students. We advocate for anti-racist practices to be held at the forefront of Saint Michael’s College through supporting student initiatives, advocating for inclusive hiring practices, and maintaining strong communication between administration and alumni in order to create a more diverse, equitable, and inclusive institution.
Please email smcalumni.racialjustice@gmail.com if you would like to be on our email list to learn about upcoming actions and monthly meetings.
SMC LGBTQIA+ Pride Committee
It is the mission of this group, currently called the SMC Pride Committee, to create a safe space, both virtually and in person, for queer Purple Knights to connect and support one another, to keep up with what is happening on campus, and to recognize the experiences and achievements of the Saint Michael’s College LGBTQIA+ community, past and present. While a St. Mike’s LGBTQIA+ network has existed for a long time, it is the firm belief of the Pride Committee that this group should become an official alumni affinity group in order to be more accessible to its members and to carry out its mission.
For more information on becoming involved with this group, please email alumni@rossand1mariatakemexico.com and write “LGBTQIA+ Pride Committee” in your subject line.
